Shay Hexagon House

Built circa 1892
East Main Street

Designed by inventor and entrepreneur Ephraim Shay as his home around 1892, this unique building is made primarily of stamped steel (both interior and exterior).  Six hexagon-shaped rooms project from a center room open to the second-floor, six-sided tower. Shay lived here until his death in 1916. The building is now owned by the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society. The Shay Hexagon House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
